KYOOT BREAK - BLEAK [ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEO]
'KYOOT BREAK' is a playful, almost nostalgic breakbeat track, so I was immediately inspired by the freeing, wispy feeling in the vocals and wanted to convey that through a character dancing alone in the rain as the world passes her by. The scene surrounding her is dim, mundane, very representative of an average British road, and yet she brings her own whimsical essence to the street, shifting colours with the beat and structural changes within the track.
My practice has always had an underlying theme of making something beautiful and playful from the mundane, and this work ties in wonderfully with that. This character is a reminder of the importance to keep dancing, keep creating, keep seeking joy throughout hard times and the difficult states of the world we live in.
